Bachelors Degree in Journalism from Michigan State University, 1981. Mentor program, KFAI Radio, 1993-95.

When and how did you discover you wanted to be a writer/author?
When I moved away from my girlhood friend in 1968 and we wrote letters back and forth.

Please tell about your first publication – what was it, when, how you felt when it happened, problems you may have had, etc.
I interviewed Washington Star gossip columnist Diana McClellan alias “the Ear” and published it in the Detroit News in the summer of 1980 while in Journalism school.

Please tell about the most memorable moment(s) in your career.
Featuring my Medieval character, Ethelred in a character interview to be online in July.

What problems have you encountered in your career?
I gave up on writing for five years.

Did an established writer mentor you in your early days?  If yes, how did the mentor help you?
When I was a staff writer for the KFAI Radio show, Shockwave, the two hosts mentored me in script writing and in acting.

What genre do you most often write?
Romantic comedy.

What other genres have you written?
Time travel.

Who are the authors who most influenced your writing career?
Janet Evanovich, Helen Fielding and screenwriters Amy Heckerling and Robin Schiff.

Who are the authors your read most often?
Janet Evanovich.

What would you tell an aspiring writer who asks you for help?
Don’t be afraid to try local markets for your writing such as public access radio and TV.

What advice would you give to all up-and-coming writers?
Don’t give up.

What is the name of your current project?
I interview Indie authors for The Examiner.

What is the expected release date?
This coming weekend.
